i was recently fortunate enough to be invited to the baby shower of my friend and local fine art photographer, Misty Keasler - the celebration contained a collection of amazingly accomplished women - painters, photographers, gallerists, art professors, etc. - and i was honored and humbled to be in their presence
the incredible cake, a replica of the mural in the baby's room(dreamed up and painted by Misty's husband and artist Brian Gibb) was home-made by her friend and godmother to the baby-to-be, Maria Sheets, an art restorer in the Dallas area
this is a talented group of folks, to say the least
and after mimosas, delicious eats, and some of the most creative gifts i've ever seen given - the day was topped off with a mini-sculpture contest, with good old-fashioned modeling clay - a throwback to days in design class
